public policies for animals?
Yes! We work and engage in various ways to establish and strengthen laws and regulations that prohibit mistreatment, regulate breeding and management practices, and promote animal welfare and good practices. Furthermore, we understand that the topic is transversal and should also be discussed through other contexts, such as public health, the environment, food security, and consumer rights.
Importance of being present at the congress
The protection of animals used in livestock farming is a matter in dispute with little space on the political agenda, and it is important to occupy available spaces and seek to expand them. The presence and actions of animal protection organizations are central to the construction of policies and the inclusion of the topic in the public debate. If there is no presence and action from animal protection organizations, other actors and sectors with their respective interests will take that place.
